My decision to become a professional photographer began as you would expect, with the love of taking pictures starting at a young age. I first started experimenting with SLR photography back when I was in junior high school when my dad owned a Nikon N65 film SLR camera. I had always enjoyed taking pictures as a means of documenting a memory but it wasn’t until I started using an SLR that I was able to use the concepts of zoom, manual focus, and bokeh to capture that moment in time the way I envisioned it. What seemed to captivate me wasn’t the simplicity in the physical process of taking a good photograph, but rather the complexity involved in the mental process required to make a great one. That thought process is what I try my best to express in all of my photographs through creativity and composition as I hope to create something truly memorable. As all photographers know, it is this that makes photography more than simply taking pictures and makes a photograph more than just an image.
After years of taking pictures for myself and my family, I decided it was time to share my art with the online community and offer my services as a photographer to others who may not have the time, effort, or vision to dedicate to the art of photography and photojournalism.
After graduating from college in 2011, I started working full-time and earned enough capital to invest in my photography. I purchased a new computer and a Canon 60D DSLR. Since then, I have tried my best to keep up with the technology in the ever-evolving field of photography. As my collection of photography equipment has grown over the years, so has my photography portfolio and my experiences. I have learned a lot about single-handedly running a business and am grateful for all those that have helped me along the way. I always look forward to meeting new people, acquiring new clients, and meeting their needs and expectations as a photographer.
